Bayer Ophthalmology ‘EYE-SIGHT’ Project
Bayer have a ‘Vision in Ophthalmology’. This ‘Vision’ is a commitment to exploring new worlds of care to help people with retinal diseases see a better life. They have four key areas they are committed to and wanted to inform the world of this. But how do you show your commitment rather than just talking about it?
We engaged the people who will ultimately benefit from Bayer’s work, the visually impaired community. We asked four visually impaired photographers to create 2 photographs each and content that told their story, as well as Bayer’s.
All promotional material featured images created by our visually impaired photographers and were shared across social media channels to engage ophthalmologists around the world and hosted on Instagram.
Bayer also sponsored a new category called ‘EYE-SIGHTS’ at the annual IAPB (International Association for the Prevention of Blindness) photo competition for World Sight Day, where two of the photographers were judges.
All the photographers work and the photos from the IAPB photo competition is now available on Shutterstock with all royalties going to the IAPB. And finally, there was a gallery showing of all the work where prints of the visually impaired photographers work was auctioned off with all proceeds going to the IAPB.
